Washita Valley Community Action Council is a private non-profit corporation, incorporated in 1968 to serve Grady and Caddo Counties. The agency is governed by a twelve member tripartite Board of Directors, with four members representing the low-income sector, four members representing the public sector, and four members representing the private sector. With the low-income representation on the Board, the low- income have a role in the planning, evaluation, and decision making of all agency programs.

Community Services Block Grant (CSBG)
The Community Services Block Grant is used for the administration of all the programs that Washita Valley Community Action Council sponsors. This funding comes through the Oklahoma Department of Commerce from the federal government. |
| The Washita Valley Community Action Council Head Start program received a Gold Certificate from the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Head Start, for being a Program of Excellence. The federal government conducted a review of the program and determined that the program was 100% in compliance with the federal regulations. The review team complimented the program for exceeding regulations in numerous areas. Peggy Sayers, Head Start Director and Sharlotte Key, Washita Valley Community Action Executive Director proudly display the certificate. Thank you to all of the staff who made this achievement possible.
